THERAPY FOR TRAUMA & PTSD IN GALVESTON & ACROSS TX & MI

Move through the pain. Release the burden you’re carrying. Find peace in living again.

After what happened, you don’t know how you could ever go back to “normal.”

MAYBE YOU FIND YOURSELF…

  • Pulling away from the people who love you or avoiding people altogether—because getting close feels like too much, or just not worth the risk.

  • Feeling stuck in your head, second-guessing everything and not trusting yourself to make the “right” call no matter how small.

  • Carrying around a heavy sense of shame, blaming yourself for things that weren’t your fault, and feeling like you’re too broken to fix.

  • Numb or checked out most of the time—like you’re going through the motions but not really in your life.

  • Tired all the time, unable to relax or sleep, and overwhelmed by waves of anxiety, sadness, or both, without knowing why.

  • Thinking “I don’t want to live like this anymore,” and feeling ready to address what’s weighing on you so you can finally heal.

Talking about what happened is never easy, but I’ll take the time to understand you deeply and help you move forward as the person you want to be.

You don’t have to come in with the perfect words or a fully-formed story—just show up as you are. I’ll meet you there, with honesty and patience.

HOW WE’LL WORK TOGETHER

Helping you do more than just “deal with” your trauma.

The work we’re going to do together is hard—I won’t pretend otherwise. It takes time, trust, and a real relationship. That’s where we start. We won’t dive straight into the deep end, we’ll ease into the work and get into the more difficult stuff when you’re ready. I want to understand how you’ve been coping, what’s working for you (and what’s not), and how you see yourself and your life right now.

Your trauma doesn’t define you—but it’s shaped things, and together we’ll figure out what healing can look like for you. Your goals guide this process, not mine. I won’t force you to talk about anything before you’re ready, but I will gently challenge you when the time is right. I’m not afraid of your anger, your sadness, or the weight of your pain—I can handle all of it.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all journey. Life is messy, unpredictable, and sometimes brutally unfair—and I don't expect you to show up with it all figured out. Therapy with me is real, honest work. Sometimes it’s slow. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable. But you’ve already made it through some heavy stuff, and I believe you can face what comes next, too.

You can’t go back to who you were before—that version of you has done their job—but you can become someone resilient, more grounded, and more aligned with who you really want to be. Even when life throws more mess your way (and it will) you’ll trust that you have the tools, the clarity, and the confidence to deal with it.

Therapy for trauma & PTSD can help you…

  • Have deeper, more intimate connections — Learn how to let people in and feel safe enough to open up without losing yourself in the process.

  • Begin to trust again — We’ll work on helping you trust yourself first, then learn how to discern when others are trustworthy versus when they're not.

  • Feel less anxious and overwhelmed — Anxiety might always be part of life, but it doesn’t have to run the show—you can learn how to ride the wave instead of getting pulled under.

  • Let go of the guilt and shame that never belonged to you — Understand that what happened to you wasn’t your fault, and that being cautious doesn’t make you broken, it makes you human.

  • Rediscover joy, rest, and the desire to keep going — Find yourself feeling lighter, sleeping through the night, and (maybe for the first time in a long time) wanting to stick around to see what happens next.

  • Make peace with the pain instead of letting it define you — We can’t erase what happened, but we can decide what we do with it, and you get to choose how this next chapter unfolds.

You’re safe here.

It’s time to take back your future.

FAQs

  • I work with all kinds of trauma—everything from childhood wounds, abusive relationships, and family dysfunction to the kind that comes from combat, first responder work, medical emergencies, and intense losses. Sometimes people come in knowing what hurt them, and sometimes they don’t have a name for it yet—they just know something isn’t right. Whether it’s a single event or something that’s been building for years, we’ll work at your pace to make sense of it.

  • Yes, both as a clinician and as a military veteran myself. I specialize in helping this population—as well as their spouses and family members—deal with the effects of their service. You can learn more about the work I do with veterans and first responders here.

  • Trauma changes the way your brain tries to keep you safe—it’s like the alarm system in your mind is constantly going off. You might feel on edge all the time, shut down emotionally, or overreact to things that wouldn’t normally bother you. It can make it hard to relax, to trust others, or even to trust yourself. In therapy, we’ll work on helping your brain and body feel safe again so you can finally exhale and start living instead of just surviving.

  • Absolutely. When you’ve been through something extremely stressful or overwhelming—especially if it felt unsafe or out of your control—it can leave you feeling anxious, hopeless, or completely drained. PTSD and trauma often show up as a mix of anxiety, depression, anger, numbness, or just feeling totally disconnected. In therapy, we’ll work together to help you feel grounded, clear-headed, and whole again.
